Solar setup
Connect your Pila to Enphase solar
Your Pila pairs with your Enphase IQ Gateway (Envoy) over your home network to read real-time production and daily energy totals, so it knows when you're generating and can charge from excess solar.
You set this up on your Pila's screen because the connection is a direct one: your Pila talks to your Envoy over your home network rather than through a cloud service. Your solar data never leaves your home, readings update instantly, and they keep working even if your internet goes down.
Before you start
- Your Pila and your Enphase Envoy must be on the same network
- Your Pila must be running PilaOS 1.6 or newer
- Your Enphase Enlighten email and password — the same login you use for the Enphase app
Find your Enphase system
On your Pila, go to Settings → Solar → Enphase Integration and tap Scan for Enphase System.
Your Pila searches the network and fills in the IP address automatically. If it can't find your system, you can enter the IP address yourself — check your router's list of connected devices and look for one named "envoy".
Enter your Enlighten credentials
Tap Enlighten Username and Enlighten Password, enter your Enphase account details, then tap Save & Connect.
You're connected
When the status turns green, your Pila is reading live data from your solar system. Your current solar production appears on screen, confirming the connection is working.
That's it. Your Pila now factors solar into how it charges and powers your home.
If it doesn't connect
Your Pila tells you what went wrong at the bottom of the screen.
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Enlighten username or password was rejected | Double-check your details by signing in at enlighten.enphaseenergy.com. The password is case-sensitive. |
| Couldn't reach an Enphase system at… | Your Envoy may have changed IP address. Tap Re-scan. If that doesn't help, confirm the Envoy is powered on and on the same network as your Pila. |
| Couldn't reach Enphase Enlighten | Your Pila can't reach the internet. Check its connection under Settings → Wi-Fi. Internet access is needed to sign in during setup. |
If you've tried a few times without success, wait 15 minutes before trying again — Enphase temporarily blocks sign-ins after repeated failed attempts.
Disconnecting. Tap Disconnect to unlink your Enphase account. This removes your stored Enlighten credentials from your Pila. You can reconnect any time by entering them again.
