Introducing: The Fridge Kit
Is the food in my fridge safe?
That's the question millions have after an outage.
Until now, answering is mostly guesswork. We aim to change this. Our Fridge Temperature Monitoring Kit goes inside your fridge to keep track of your perishables 24/7, for peace of mind through outages and the rest of the year too.
It's shipping now.
We also just pushed the fridge insights features live in the Pila App.

The Fridge Kit is the first of several accessories. An expansion battery and a solar kit are both in development.
Pila is Coming to Alexa+
Ask most people where their power goes each month and they can't tell you, let alone what to do about it.
We spent the day at Amazon's partner day for Alexa+ showing what it looks like when you can just ask. "Alexa, prepare my home for the upcoming outage." Pila charges to 100% and reads back your forecasted hours of backup.
You don't open an app. You don't hunt through settings menus. And you still don't need an electrician.
Whether it's voice or a screen, the goal is simple: make it obvious where your energy is going, and make the savings happen without you thinking about it.
We're one of the first brands building on Amazon's new AI-powered smart home developer toolkit for Alexa+, and the integration paths are in preview now. Thanks to the Alexa team for having us.

New in the Pila App
Our biggest app release yet went out in late July. The focus: understand what your Pila is doing, why it's doing it, and what it's saving you.
- Battery Mode card. Set utility time-of-use, whole-home solar, and backup reserve from one place, with a plain-language readout of what your Pila is doing right now. No more guessing why it's charging or discharging.
- Now Running. Your five highest-consuming appliances, live.
- Usage card. Today's consumption against your own baseline, so you can adjust before it shows up on the bill.
- Home Energy Rate Score. In Reduce Energy Cost mode, see how much of your energy shifted to off-peak rates.
- Rebuilt Events page. Filter between grid outages and fridge temperature events to find exactly what happened and when.
- Streamlined setup. A guided walkthrough that takes a new Pila from unboxed to running in minutes.
Make sure you're on the latest version from the App Store or Google Play. If automatic updates are off, download the new version, then force-quit and reopen the app.

Pila on the Climate Capital Podcast
Power outages are becoming more frequent, electricity costs continue to rise, and the modern grid is under growing pressure from electrification, AI-driven demand, and increasingly severe weather.
Cole joined Noah Margo-Dermer on the Climate Capital Podcast to talk about why traditional home batteries remain out of reach for so many households, and how plug-in distributed storage can make backup power, energy savings, and intelligent energy management available to far more people.
